Row row row your boat!

This week in preschool we learned about different boats! Preschool firstly looked at different types of boats such as speed boats, yacht, submarines and discussed the differences that they could see! The children then made their own boats using different materials. Preschool tested different materials such as plastic, metal, wood and cardboard. They took it in turns to choose a material and test it! The children had to make a prediction about whether they think their boats would sink or float! One child said “I think the wood boat is going to float!” Another said “My boat will float! It’s made of plastic!” The children also added animals and small world people to their boats. The children observed that the plastic boats floated and the wooden one sank! The children also noticed that when they added some animals or small world people the boat some of them sank! The children really enjoyed learning about boats!
