Exploring the different animals that live in an American Desert

This week in Toddlers, we learned and explored about the different animals that live in an American Desert. We started by exploring familiar animals that we know about such as spiders, wolves, snakes, and tortoise. The children explored the different textures within the tray that represented what the desert would look and feel like using their hands and fingertips. They learned about other animals that also live in an American Desert and learned some new words such as Bobcat, Horned Lizard, Cactus Wren, and Antelope.

We extended our topic based on animals from America by looking a short clip on the touch and tilt screen about some of the animals that we saw in our tuff tray and how they live in their natural habitat. Well done toddlers.
