The Ponies went to the forest to take part in their own bear hunt. They started by listening to the familiar story. All of the children listened intently and enjoyed a new environment for story session. The children were able to listen to the familiar lines and verses and shouted out key parts of the story such as "we have to go through it".
Once the story was finished the children took part in their own bear hunt. They walked through various part of the forest retelling the story such as:
"We're going on a bear hunt, we're going to catch a big one.
What a beautiful day, were not scared.
Oh no a forest, a big dark forest.
We can't go over it, we can't go under it.
We have to go through it.
Stumble, trip, stumble, trip"
The children relayed the story at the correct parts and had an excellent experience exploring communication and literacy development in the forest.
