This week the Ponies have made their own sausage rolls! We firstly went on a trip to Waitrose to buy all of our ingredients, while we were there we met Charlie who works at the deli counter who told us all about the types of sausages they sell, and they learnt about the importance of protein for nourishing our bodies and muscles. They also met Maxine who gave the children lots of apples to have for snack and special Waitrose stickers. After they bought the ingredients, they went back to nursery and put on their chefs hats!

They followed the recipe carefully, listening to the instructions set out by the adult. All of the Ponies washed their hands carefully and spoke about how the safely handle food. They mashed up the sausages, cut out the pastry and folded the sausage rolls confidently before asking Chef Iris to pop them in the oven for us. They waited patiently for them to cook and then the most important part- eating!
