The Ponies explored clay on a large scale. They used water to soften the clay, adding various amounts of water to the clay as they used their hands to start to form shapes. Fingers were used to press into the clay and the touch sense was used to fully work and manipulate the clay. Tools were added and children used their fine and gross motor skills to manipulate rolling pins and clay sculpting knives to flatten clay and make various shapes. Children were able to work creatively on a large scale forming 3D models. Giving meaning to the models created.
