The Horses used pieces of junk modelling such as bottles to make their boats. The children used pens to make marks on the bottles to make them individual and distinguish them from other so the children could see where their boats were in the race.
Once the boats had been created the children used straws to blow through ad push their boats forwards in the race. The children practised big and small breaths to see through trial and error how far their boat had gone. Mathematical and descriptive language was used to look at what order the boats came in such as third, second and third.
