The Ladybirds explored a winter sensory tray.
They had the opportunity to explore ice and snow with a variety of antarctic animals.
The children rubbed their hands over the ice exploring the cold, smooth, wet texture and used vocabulary to discuss what they could feel.
The team introduced new vocabulary such as melting and ice.
The children watched with awe and wonder as water dripped slowly from the ice.
The snow was collected and modelled into snow balls.
The children also practised sprinkling the snow.
The children picked up the antarctic animals and took part in small world play.
