Vaisakhi
The Grasshopper children enjoyed learning about the festival of Vaisakhi. We were very lucky to have one of the children's parent visit us to share a delightful story about the festival and its accompanying traditions. After the story, everyone participated in making some delicious pakoras to accompany their tea. They collaborated to peel, chop, and grate the various vegetables needed for the dish. Once all the vegetables were prepared, the children helped to prepare the batter by measuring out the spices. The children then took turns mixing the vegetables with the batter and allowed it to chill in the fridge until the afternoon, when they fried them up for their tea.
