The Butterflies went to the forest to explore the life cycle of a frog. 

They talked about the life cycle and how it starts with frog spawn and how it changes to tadpoles and frogs. 

The talked about where the frog spawn or tadpoles might be and decided a pond or swamp.

The Butterflies headed out with their nets and buckets to explore the shallow swamp in the forest. 

They stood at the edge and dipped nets inside the swamp to see what they could find. 

They found some swamp life insects and various greenery and stones.

they excitedly collected their findings into a bucket and investigated what was inside. 

The children used mathematical language and concepts as they discussed the shallow and deep water. 

It was so much fun!
