Sand Panning
The Butterflies took part in a sand panning activity to locate jewels ang gold. They used sieves to dip into the sand and scoops to scoop sand from the tray into their sieves to search for what had been found. Children investigated what they had found and selected jewels and gold from their sieves.
Children were highly engaged as they explored the tray filled with sand, water, rocks, jewels and gold. Excitedly locating the gold and jewels and collecting them for further instigation.
Inside the children used the microscope to explore what they had found.
