The Butterflies looked at what types of materials could be recycled as part of our materials topic. 

They explored different types of recycling such as metal and paper. 

In a tuff tray the children categorised objects by their materials. 

Sorting them into the correct recycling bags. 

Once the children had a good understanding of what they could recycle they headed outside on a local walk. 

The children practised using the litter pickers. 

They extended on their motor skills by clasping the pickers handle to open and close it. 

They used hand eye co-ordination to navigate space to pick up intended items. 

They picked up various pieces of litter and talked about what bag they would go in. 

Everyone was very excited to have a turn and collect the litter.
