The Grasshoppers had a fantastic time with a hands-on messy play experience centred around pumpkins. In the activity tray, we provided cleaned-out pumpkin bowls, a cauldron, spoons, and a real china tea set. The children delighted in exploring various sensory materials, including fruity tea, pumpkin pulp mixed with water, and slime. They happily used different tools and resources to scoop, mix, and pour the various messy materials between their pumpkin bowls, cups, and tea cups, encouraging creativity and sensory exploration.
During the play, we read the story "Pumpkin" and talked about how elements from the story were present in the tray, such as pumpkins, spoons, and soup. We also discussed which characters the children wanted to portray during their playtime.
