The grasshoppers enjoyed this messy activity with soil, cooking utensil, cupcake cases, cake sprinkles, Pom poms and googly eyes. The children enjoyed exploring texture and seeing how they could manipulate the soil by using water to make the mud sticky and runny, scoops to transfer it from bowls, pots, jugs and cupcake cases.
Some children enjoyed making cakes and mud pies, while others made mud castles and others used the googly eyes to make mud monsters.
