Making Ice Cream
The Grasshoppers have had a lot of fun in the sun recently and have been enjoying ice cream with their families. So at nursery, we made our own ice cream. The children did really well using safety choppers and knives to cut up the fruit for their toppings, and they measured out the ice cream mix: custard and cream. They loved watching how the liquid slowly developed ice crystals and began to freeze up in the ice cream maker. Later in the week, the children then served the ice cream themselves as a delicious afternoon treat.
