Islamic New Year Stars
The Butterflies have been celebrating the start of the Islamic new year by creating their star decorations to symbolise the coming of the new year. The Butterflies had lots of fun using a variety of decorations for their stars including pens, tissue paper and sequins! The children read a story about the Islamic new year during circle time. The butterflies learnt about the prayer mat that is used and looked at some of the lovely Mosque buildings when people can go to pray. The Islamic New Year is about reflection so the Butterflies have been reflecting on their own experiences.
