Introducing Tinkering and Risky Play
The Grasshoppers room has started to introduce risky play within the room to encourage the children to build a deep understanding of managing their own risks.
We introduced a range of technology equipment and small tools such as pliers and screwdrivers for the children to tinker with the equipment.
Beth discussed all of the new equipment with the children and took part in a risk assessment with the children.
The children were able to highlight what they need to be careful and how they can use the new resources safely.
The children were very excited to explore the resources and used them with caution and fine motor control.
