Harvesting Lavender
The children in Grasshoppers have enjoyed harvesting Lavender as well as using their senses and developing their fine motor skills. The children enjoyed using scissors to cut it and used the pestle and mortars to grind the lavender into small bits. When the pieces of lavender were small enough, they then added it to the home made play dough mix to create some nice lavender smelling play dough. They enjoyed taking turns to mix the dough and then enjoyed using a variety of resources to make moulds and cut shapes into the play dough.
