This week in Grasshoppers, they celebrated their favourite fairy tales for Fairy Tale Day. The children particularly enjoyed the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and they had a fantastic time participating in cooking activities inspired by the tale. As the porridge was prepared, they read the story of Goldilocks and discussed the toppings they would like to add once it was finished. Together, the children created their own versions of the Three Bears' porridge. They listened carefully to the instructions, which guided them in measuring, scooping, and safely navigating around the hot plate. The children developed their fine motor skills as they chopped various fruits to complement their creamy porridge, all the while sharing their favourite fruit choices. Once the porridge was ready, each child scooped a serving into their bowl and enjoyed decorating it with an array of toppings, including strawberries, blueberries, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
