Exploring our Senses
The Butterflies explored their 5 senses by exploring 5 different messy trays.
The children were able to talk with practitioners about what was in each tray.
The children used their hands to explore the textures and used describing words such as wet, sticky and soft to talk about what they could feel.
Some of the textures were mixed together and the children were excited to see how the textures changed.
The staff encouraged the children to smell the texture and the children talked about what they could smell.
The children could also hear sounds as they mixed it together and splashed with their hands and tools.
