Emotion Puzzles

The children had lots of fun exploring emotions! They practiced the facial expressions of happy, sad and angry.  Then they took pictures of themselves with different facial expressions and cut them into different shapes to create a puzzle. Once they had the puzzle shapes, they started putting them back together looking at the emotions as well as different appearances. The children discussed eye colours and hair colours. The children started with their own puzzles then tried putting the puzzles of their friends together. Then the Butterfliers each took turns to talk about think that may make them feel certain ways then were able to each come up with ideas of how to overcome certain feelings. Finally, they all took some time to practice some mindful breathing techniques focusing on taking deep breaths in and out that they can use daily.
