Cutting Rapunzel's Hair
The Ladybirds practised their cutting skills by cutting cooked spaghetti that looked like Rapunzel's hair.
The children read Rapunzel's story and looked at her long hair.
Everyone practised using child friendly scissors to open and close becoming familiar with the action.
Children grasped the scissors in a variety of ways and with one and two hands.
The pasta was easy to cut and simple to practice cutting skills with.
Lots of hand eye co-ordination was used to manipulate the scissors around the pasta.
Fine motor skills was used to open and close the scissors.
Everyone was extremely engaged and focused during the activity.
