Cutting Cars

The Grasshoppers explored making hand print cars. They took part int he adult initiated activity and were able to follow simple instructions. Practising writing and cutting skills through trial and error as well as displaying persistence. Hand eye co-ordination was explored as children used pencils to practice drawing round their hands. The pencil was carefully manipulated and the shape of the hand followed. Children than attempted to use scissors to cut out their hand print. Using their dominant hand make snips in the card and persists to cut out the hand print. Children used glue to attach various materials and work creatively to design their own interpretation of a car. Children were excited by their creations and used them with their peers to race.
