Clay flowers

The Grasshoppers had a fantastic time exploring the world of clay and flowers! We started off by rolling out the soft clay with rolling pins, getting it to the perfect smoothness for our next step. The children were so focused as they flattened the clay, giggling with excitement at how it stretched and squished under the pressure of the rolling pins. We then introduced a variety of beautiful flowers—each with its own unique color, scent, and size. The Grasshoppers were amazed by the different textures, from delicate petals to rougher stems. They carefully pressed and rolled the flowers onto the clay, leaving behind intricate prints. The grasshoppers were very impressed with how the flowers left behind such detailed impressions, and we took a moment to talk about the vibrant colors, sweet smells, and various shapes of the flowers. After the clay prints dried, it was time for a splash of color! We grabbed an array of paints in every shade of the rainbow, and the Grasshoppers had a blast painting over the flower impressions. Each print came to life, creating stunning pieces of art that reflected the beauty of nature.
