Transport Exploration
This week the toddlers have engaged in a three-part transport activity. They first learned about different types of water transport on the touch and tilt. They looked at different sounds each of the different transport made. The children then copied the sounds that they vehicles were making, the children then sang their favourite songs ‘row row row your boat’ and the ‘big ship sails’. The activity was then extended by the children using their sliding down their water transports that consisted of; big boats, small boats and ships; down a cascade into a tray of water. The children enjoyed splashing into the water and using their boats to create big splashes. We then lastly extended this activity by painting a big ship. The children used their fine motor skills to paint the big ship. They mixed different colours to create new colours to use to paint their ship. The children enjoyed looking at different transport in the water.
