To the Moon and Back!
This week to explore our topic light and dark, we studied the moon and the sun. Preschool used existing knowledge to talk about what they knew about the moon and sun already. Some children mentioned that “the moon shows us it is night time” “the sun is hot in the daytime” another said. We spoke about sunsets and sunrises, explaining how they can help tell us what time of the day it is, either morning or night!
For our activity we looked specifically at how bright it is during the day time, and also how dark it can be in the night time, and also how the moon gives us light to see at night time. We then went on to create our own moon and sun masterpieces! Preschool used tin foil crumbled up and dipped it into the paints we had mixed to get the right colours. We then used a dabbing technique to make the different textures of the moon and sun’s surface.
Preschool enjoyed learning about the sun and moon, and also creating their own beautiful artwork! Lovely work preschool.
