The wheels on the bus

 The babies have recently displayed an interest in cardboard boxes, they have liked the idea of climbing in and out of them. A few of the babies have also taken an interest in transport, we decided to use some boxes for junk modelling and made some busses for the babies to sit in and drive.   The babies enjoyed the creative activity and being able to take part in some large-scale painting as a group. They were given the opportunity to use either their hands or the paintbrushes provided to make marks and customise their own baby room busses. During their play we explored and listened to ‘the wheels on the bus’. This gave more opportunity to aid the development of the children’s language skills.  The babies also enjoyed using the boxes to build towers and were very excited when the towers fell down.
