The Ice-Cream Shop
This week the preschoolers have had lots of fun exploring and using their role play skills to make and serve their friends some ice-creams in the special ice-cream shop. We spoke about how hot this week’s weather has been and how we can help each other cool down and we thought this was best! We all used our fine and gross motor skills to scoop and pat down the playdough into our ice-cream cones and tubs adding on sprinkles to decorate. We used lots of language such as “scoop, pat, flavours and cold.”
We spoke about our favourite flavours of ice-cream which seemed to be a tie between chocolate and vanilla!
To extend on our learning we had a special activity to try out some math’s sums, where we had to match the correct amount of ice cream scoops to the cones. We did really well!
Our last activity was an extension of the ice cream shop, where we had some jelly baff and ice cream cones. We used our imagination to mix the different colours of jelly baff, which then created our own special flavours of ice cream.
