Teddy Bears picnic 

This week in baby room we continued to explore our topic of fantasy and fiction as we looked at the book ‘teddy bears picnic’. Firstly we made our own sandwiches using bread, cheese and cucumber. The babies used their fine motor skills to spread the butter onto their breads and then used their hand and eye co-ordination to pick up the cheese and cucumbers and place them into their sandwiches. We then sat with our friends and teddies in a circle and enjoyed having a picnic with various foods. We explored different textures and tasted different kinds of foods. The babies enjoyed having a picnic with their peers and adults and enjoyed sharing the food with one another and playing with the teddies. We then enjoyed listening to the story and looking at the book independently.
