Stuck In the Mud

This week in the baby room we have been exploring farm animals, we created an edible muddy farm using cocoa powder, flour and water. We added farm animals and tractors, and the babies had the opportunity to explore the sticky texture using their hands and make muddy footprints using the animals. The babies had a tricky job pushing the tractors through the mud as it was very sticky, this encouraged the babies to use their gross motor skills. We also added a link to ICT using  our electronic English/French  animal book, we listened to and practiced the different animal sounds and listened to and practiced the animal names in both French and English which provided great links to some of the children’s home language
