St David’s Day
In preschool to celebrate St David’s day we looked at short video of how St. David’s day is celebrated in Wales. We looked at the symbolic Welsh items such as Welsh cakes, daffodils, and the dragon on the Welsh flag. The children then went into small groups to draw their own interpretation of a daffodil and dragons. The children used their fine motor skills and used several of colours and used this to create their drawings. The children then looked at Welsh dancing and we did some Welsh dancing in the garden.
Today in baby room we celebrated St David’s day by having daffodils in some green coloured water, the babies enjoyed splashing and swishing the daffodils in the water and then we then extended the activity by using the rest of the daffodils to paint a beautiful picture.
Well done babies, lovely pictures!
