Splat!

Splat!

This week in the toddler room we continued to focus on our interest in experimenting with paint by finding different ways to splat and spray paint. For our first activity we used different materials to see the effects they would make. We really enjoyed making shapes with sponges and dabbingu4t. For our next experiment we added some paint to spray bottles. It took a lot of practice with our motor skills to use the spray bottles but once we got used to it we made some lovely patterns and prints on a large sheet for our display board. For our last experiment we hid paint under some cotton wool and used our hands and hammers to splay the paint creating lots of patterns and shapes on the sheet. Throughout these activities were able to test our ideas and creative thinking and experimenting. We observed colour and changes when mixed together and created patterns and shapes with our different tools. We worked on our fine motor skills through the use of the different materials with the paint. Great job toddlers!
