Space 

This week in the toddler room we continued our light and dark topic by exploring space! We explored a space themed tuft tray. Our space book helped us learn about the different planets in our solar system. As we learned about them we pointed them out in the tray. As we played and explored we sang “Zoom, zoom” and “5 little men in a flying saucer.” This helped us to learn new words and link our play to familiar songs and actions. In the tray we collected moon dust in our special metal spoons and bowls and poured it out to look for stars. We then extended our space adventure to take our very own trip to explore our solar system. We took our rocket ship to the sensory room that had been transformed into the moon. We explored our physical development by throwing and catching different planets and exploring different ways of moving. We also looked at size and order while exploring the different planets compared to the big round sun. Well done toddlers what a great week of learning and exploring.
