Shadow Monsters:

This week in preschool, we explored our new topic, light and dark! The children started the topic by looking at shadows! The children looked at the different shapes they could make with their hands, and really enjoyed learning how to make animals with them. They each took it in turns to create an animal and the other children had to guess. One child said “look it’s a horse!” and another said “Wow it’s a butterfly!” The children found it very exciting when they were able to create the different animals! We then extended the activity by exploring what else we could do with shadows. The children used torches and their toys to create even more shadows. They also discovered that when you bring the torch closer to an object it becomes bigger and when you move further away it becomes smaller! Well done preschool!
