Sensory Exploration

This week in toddler room we continued our extension of foam play from last week by exploring different types of sensory play. To do this we first explored a sensory table where we used our hands and fingers to pat and make patterns and marks on the table. We then added play people and vehicles to explore other ways we could create patterns and mix the colours together. We were fascinated by the texture of the foam and paint under the clingfilm and really enjoyed testing our ideas to make it move around to create new colours and patterns. For our next activity we explored different sensory bags. This was a nice way for u s to explore different textures. We also hid some shapes and pom poms in the bags and we used our fine motor skills to move the gel, flour and tea around to find them. We also enjoyed squishing some jelly and water in the bags. As we played we were able to talk about the different things we could see like shiny stars and soft pom poms. Great job toddlers you all did such a great job exploring the different sensory activities.
