Self Portraits

Our new topic started this week, All about Me. For our first week on this we looked at ourselves. We explored a book that showed us that everyone is different. From this book some of us took part in a discussion about the differences in our features. We noticed that some of our friends have blue eyes and some brown. We also looked at hair colour and skin tones. We then used mirrors to look at our own faces and features. We then drew some lovely self-portraits using pencils and felt tip pens. This was a great way for us to be creative and practice our pencil control skills. Our beautiful portraits will be on the large display board in our room. To further extend this activity we printed some pictures of ourselves using the ipads. We then extended the use of our fine motor skills by learning how to cut with scissors. We cut shapes into our photos then pieced them all back together onto some card. Well done toddlers what a great creative week we have had.
