This week the preschool extended their summer curriculum topic by learning all about sea pollution, saving our oceans, materials and recycling.
The children discussed their summer holiday experiences and their visits to the beach. The children looked at books and visuals of beaches and sea pollution and were keen to discuss how we can save the ocean and the effects of pollution on sea life.
The children thoroughly enjoyed working through their own water station of sea animals, boats and different rubbish materials using funnels and jugs the children cleaned the water from pollution to save the animals.
We discussed and looked at visual of how sea animals can be hurt from plastic waste pollution. The children were keen to discuss this focused activity and enjoyed the whale’s tale story.
We extended this further by mark making our favourite sea animals.
