Save the Ocean
In baby room we enjoyed our save the ocean day tuff tray. We enjoyed feeling and exploring the texture of the sea. We enjoyed looking at the different sea animals in the tray and enjoyed making the different animal sounds. We enjoyed singing ‘I had a little turtle’ and the babies enjoyed babbling along and copying the actions.
In toddler room we went under the sea to explore different sea life while really enjoying exploring different textures and new materials like shells. The children thoroughly enjoyed this experience and gained a variety of different use of words from this activity.
In preschool we learned about the five different oceans of the world, Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Southern and Arctic, we then followed this with a mark making activity where they learned about the different animals that appeared in the different oceans and did their own versions of the drawings. This was then followed up with a tuft tray that they could explore with different textured experiences, like water, ice and sand.
