Safari Animals

This week in toddler room we started our new animals from around the world. We focused on animals that live in the African continent. For our first activity we explored making an animal trail. We dipped some lions, elephants and giraffes in paint and helped them walk across the paper. We investigated the marks we made using magnifying glasses. We really enjoyed making them walk the whole length of the tray leaving their footprints behind. For our second activity we went on an African safari. We role played with play people, animals and a safari truck and plane. We enjoyed driving our play people around to look at the different animals in their habitats. We used our imaginations to help the animals move around and eat and drink. Toddlers really enjoyed the role play aspect of this activity and were thoroughly engaged for a long period of time. Well done toddlers!
