Row, Row, Row your boat

This week in the toddler room we focused on one of our favourite songs, Row, Row, Row your boat. For our first activity we turned the sensory room into our stream. We used a variety of different resources to create our boats and oars. We turned our climbing frame upside down and added some pillows for us to sit on then Gaby helped us row. We also tried using some of the soft play shapes to create our own boats. We all worked really hard displaying great team work as we played and listened to the song and singing along. To extend this activity we then explored a tuft tray based on our theme. We let boats slide down cascades and moved our boats and people around to find the different animals linked to the song. We were able to make the connection to the key points of the song and create our own interpretations. During our circle time session we made a circle and joined hands to create our own boat. We all sang and laughed along to the song following all of the actions. Well done toddlers what a great week of teamwork!
