Rosa Parks Day
This week, for Rosa Parks’s day, preschool enjoyed watching a little documentary about Rosa Parks, and how important she was, and the change she made to history. We learnt about the segregation law and how she was asked to move to the back of the bus, but Rosa Parks was very brave and stood up for herself as she deemed it unfair having to move, due to her skin tone. The children agreed that it was unfair for Rosa Parks, and some children suggested that the bus driver should have been much kinder to her.
To extend on this we role played our own scenario on the bus, and we had a very kind bus driver, who allowed the people on the bus to sit wherever they wished.
Well done preschool for your great listening skills and your role playing skills.
