Room On The Broom
This week in Toddler Room we explored the “Room on The Broom” story. The toddlers enjoyed experimenting and exploring at the potion tray whilst they listened to the story being read to them and with added props to act out what happens on each page. The children made different potions using cauldrons, wooden spoons, shaving foam, bubbly water and paint to create their own potions just like in the story. Whilst making their potions, the children got to use their senses to explore the different smells and textures of the materials that was provided and expressed what type of potions they was all making and what they needed to make it.
The potions activity was then extended for the children to be able to make their own brooms using different craft materials such as coloured tissue paper, pipe cleaners, string, coloured ribbon, and felt pens to then make their own broom using wooden spoons. The children really enjoyed gluing and sticking, and making different marks on their brooms to represent the different characters from the story.
