Road Safety!
This Thursday, the preschool room had a visit from the local lollipop people! They taught the children about the importance of crossing the road safely. The children first looked at all the different vehicles that might use the road, such as cars, bikes, and emergency vehicles. The lollipop people then taught the children how to cross the road. They had to follow the different steps before they crossed the road; stop, look, listen, and think! The most important being holding an adult’s hand! The children all took it in turns to cross the road safely and even dressed up as the roles and wore the different accessories that represented all the mandatory steps before crossing e.g. holding a stop sign to ‘stop’, glasses for ‘look’, big ears for ‘listen’ and a question mark headband for ‘think!’ All the children really engaged with this activity and highly enjoyed getting more of an insight of the roads and keeping safe!
