Red Nose Day (1)

 Red Nose Day

Baby room baked some delicious biscuits for our red nose day bake sale, they practiced their mixing, squeezing, rolling and moulding the dough and pressing the cutters in to make a shape. The babies were very proud of their baking skills and gave themselves 5 stars for taste.

To prepare for our bake sale in support of red nosed day the toddlers made some delicious rice crispie treats. They helped break chocolate into a bowl and then talked about the health and safety aspects of melting the chocolate. The children then helped stir the chocolate when it was melted. They then took turns to scoop some rice crispies and pour them into the chocolate. They then helped stir and mix the chocolate until they were all covered in the chocolate. They then used their fine motor skills to help scoop their mixture into cupcake cases. We also decorated some fairy cakes with red icing. As we decorated them we took part in discussions about doing things to help people feel better and being kind. The toddlers also took part in lots of red themed activities in the room. We explored painting and collaging with red materials. Scooping and pouring red oats using red pots and plates. We also role played in our role play area creating red milkshakes!

For comic relief Preschool learnt about the charity and all the hard work they do to help those in poverty. To support the charity, preschool helped to decorate biscuits and made chocolate rice crispies cakes to sell at our bake sale! We also had a go at making our own red noses, using googly eyes and red playdough. we placed them on our noses and enjoyed playing with them.

Well done everyone for helping to raise as much money as we could for Comic Relief!
