This week in baby room we have been exploring pumpkins. The babies watched us carve funny faces into the pumpkins and were then given the opportunity to help scoop out and to explore the pulp. We scooped the pulp into the cauldrons with our hands and pretended to make potions. They thoroughly enjoyed the sensory experience and reaching into the pumpkins to pull out all of the pulp and flesh whilst promoting key words such as scoop, empty and words related to the texture. We then placed some of the pulp into Ziplock bags so the babies could further explore it in a mess free way, this was a great way for the babies who were less keen on the texture.
