Preschool Planting Cress Workshop
This week in preschool the children enjoyed planting their own cress seeds, they enjoyed using spades to scoop the soil into there plant pots and then sprinkled some cress seeds on top, they then filled up the watering cans and watered their cress seeds, the children was excited to watch the cress seeds grow so we can add our cress into our sandwiches. We did a risk assessment of our sandwich activity, identifying that the scissors and knives are sharp and we have to be extra careful when using these tools. Once our cress was grown we used scissors to carefully cut it so we could use it for our sandwiches we also got our grownups to boil some eggs so we could have them in our sandwiches we then sliced the eggs once they were cool. We also used the grater (we had to be very careful) so we could add cheese too for those of us who didn’t want egg. We used our fine motor skills to butter and cut our sandwiches, we really enjoyed eating them , they were so yummy!
Well done preschool for a thorough risk assessment of this activity and identifying where we might have to be extra safe!
