Physical development and risky play

Physical development and risky play

This week in the baby room we promoted the development of motor skills with lots of activities to aid physical development. We practiced our standing and balancing whilst we built tall towers with the soft play. And then we practiced our had eye coordination whilst climbing the climbing frame.  This activity promoted independence amongst the babies and for them to take and asses risks with an adult close by to aid and assist them. The babies also loved playing peek-a-boo with their friends and adults at each end of the tunnel.  The babies then had the opportunity to take their physical development activities outdoors whilst they v=carefully crawled across the balancing beams in the garden.
