‘Our mini sailors’

This week the babies explored transport in the water.

We been focusing on the song ‘row row row your boat’ and we decided to use role play and small world to bring it to life whilst using some dressing up so we could feel like real life sailors.

The babies were able to explore the water at two different levels depending on their preference and standing capabilities.

We used coloured water with bubbles and netting to imitate the sea and the waves.  We enjoyed watching the boats make a splash after they slid down the cascade.  The babies also enjoyed the sensory experience of splashing in the water and creating waves with their hands. The babies also had the opportunity to use items from the tray to take part in one of our latest interests which is ‘pouring’
