On the Farm
This week in the baby room we learned about different animals that live on a farm. We made our very own muddy puddle for our animals to play in. We had lots of fun getting messy and making lots of marks in our large scale animal painting. We used our gross and fine motor skills to make splashes and marks on the paper with our hands and some farm animals. Once our muddy puddle was dry, we then explored an edible farm tray. We used our senses to explore, smell and taste the different areas of the farm as we played. We explored different cereals, blueberries, parsley, chives and rosemary as we played with the different animals. We really enjoyed pretending the animals were eating the different herbs in the tray and making them move around the farm enlightening our imaginations.
To finish off our week exploring and learning about farm animals we used the sound wall in the sensory room to listen to the different sounds all the animals make and try to repeat them. This was a great way for us to develop our ICT skills and explore the cause and effect of pushing the different buttons on the sound wall. We really enjoying imitating the different sounds we heard.
