This week to start our new topic, Preschool became mini gardeners and planted some flowers in a big plant pot for our room. We spoke about what we need to do to help our plants grow, the children suggested ‘water, soil and sunshine’. Next we passed around the packet of seeds and individually looked at the packet and named one of our favourite flowers, some children said “sunflowers and roses.”

We took it in turns and used great care when taking out the soil from the bag, to pour it into the plant pot, enhancing on our gross motor skills. To finish off, the children then sprinkled out some seeds into the soil and placed some more soil on top. We will be checking in each week to see how our flowers are growing.
