Messy letters

This week in baby room we have explored many different items of messy play. The foamy soap is always a keen favourite so we decided to use this to create the first letter of each babies name.  The babies were given their own individual trays each containing the first letter of their name made from the foam. We added different letters to the tray to encourage and promote early literacy within the room and the babies enjoyed dropping them into the foam and trying to pick them back back out. They also had the opportunity to use either their fingers or the paintbrushes to make different marks in the foam. This was an amazing sensory experience for the babies and their most favourite part was covering their hands and arms in the coloured soap.
